Ridiculous stuff sells in the showbiz industry and due to this trend, many celebrities in Ghana have invented their own ‘moment of madness’ just to garner more attention or increase their fan base. GhanaWeb is reflecting on how these ridiculous practices exercised by some Ghanaian celebs enlarged their fan base across Ghana and beyond. And as part of that, we have put together a list of the celebrities and socialites who rose to fame through absurdity. 1. Afia Schwarzenegger It will be recalled in 2017 that, Afia Schwarzenegger known in real life as Valentina Agyeiwaa surprised citizens by posting an almost naked picture of hers on social media. In the photo, the popular media personality put on a pink wig cap and exposed her boobs just to please her fans. This act of hers drew the public’s attention with many criticizing her whereas others too admired her erected boobs. 2. Shatta wale In 2015, Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, undressed himself on stage as he performed at the then Tigo Ghana Meets Naija musical concert which was held at the Accra International Conference Centre. The artiste, who appeared on stage in an all-white dress, took off his shirt, shorts and foot wear leaving his boxers and singlet. Shatta Wale who seemed ‘possessed’ at the time vigorously swung his manhood, in his shorts, while performing. The audience upon realizing the artiste was half naked, screamed and took shots. 3. Wisa Greid Hiplife artiste, Eugene Ashie, aka Wisa Greid in 2015 exposed his manhood and used it to stroke the buttocks of a female dancer during a live performance at a concert dubbed ‘Decemba 2 Rememba’. The ‘Ekiki Me’ hitmaker was dragged to the Accra Circuit court after his uncalled behavior on stage. At the court , the artiste pleaded not guilty and was granted bail by the court which was presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, in the sum of of GH¢8,000 with a surety to be justified. Wisa also told the court that he showed his penis just to boost his popularity. 4. Salma Mumin In 2018, Actress Salma Mumin shocked her fans by sharing a near nude picture of her on Instagram to celebrate her birthday. In the photo, the actress was seen lying in a bathtub filled with water melons and captioned it; “On this day a queen was born in a bathtub full of water melons.” Her picture, after going viral, incurred the wrath of her fans and friends who thought even though the concept might seem creative, the outcome was in bad taste. 5. Akuapim polo After promising that she will never strip naked nor twerk in a sexually explicit manner again, actress Akuapem Poloo downplayed her promise in an awkward manner by twerking and exposing some parts of her body in a raunchy manner on social media. 6. Moesha Boduong Ghanaian socialite Moesha Boduong, announced her presence in Ghana’s showbiz industry by releasing back to back semi-nude photos of hers on social media. In 2017, a picture of hers on social media became the topic for the day on several media platforms. The photo showed Moesha had no panty on and nipples vividly exposed. 7. Efia odo Ghanaian actress Efia Edo garnered a lot of attention for herself by posting a nude pictures of hers on social media. The semi-nude picture dominated the media space within the shortest possible time and also generated a lost of comments on social media.
